Maximizing DPS

A couple of observations from our last raid:

Our DPS is slightly below average . . . .

According to other combat logs of these bosses, our group is slightly below average DPS.  This log is from our Oregorger wipes, but it is pretty consistent with all our boss fights.  we are between the 35th and 45th percentile for average DPS.

What can help our DPS go up?

(1) Potions/Buffs

I have added 2 new addons to my folder. The first will check every raid member for Flasks, Food buff, AND runes.

The second will keep track of who is using damage potions on the pull.

Especially on progression bosses, everyone should be pre-potting with damage output potions. Every DPS, and even tanks should be hitting strength pots on the pull. Healers can pre-pot int if you have damage spells in your healing rotation.

As soon as 2 minute CD's are up, DPS should be hitting your 2nd potion and giving the boss every ounce of Damage you can crank out!

Our last attempt on Oregorger he got to 5%. 100% pots would have made that attempt a kill  . . .

(2) Gear

Work with guildies to help get any crafted upgrades still needed. Halok has tons of Savage Bloods and is willing to help

(3) Stats/Rotation

Use tools like Noxxic/Icy-Veins or askmrrobot to make sure you have solid mechanics and stat priorities.  Addons like spellflash, Bitten, and weakauras, can help manage rotation and Cooldowns as well.

(4) Fight Mechanics (stop dying!)

You can't DPS in the dirt, period . . . the faster we switch from Boss -> adds -> back to Boss, the faster he dies.
